Whitepaper — When Growth Exposes the Cracks Read report

Implementation without the theatre.

No discovery phase that bills for a year, no reseller hand-off, no blank-canvas configuration workshop. Our consultants have deployed this system into your industry before and they work for the same company that writes the code.

Implementation · on track Example plan

Kickoff → live operation

4–6weeks from kickoff to live
  1. Scope and data
  2. Configure
  3. Migrate and integrate
  4. Train on real work
  5. Go live and settle
Delivered in-house Role-based training
  • Live in four to six weeks

Kickoff to live, including data migration and training.

  • Delivered in-house

Product consultants, not a subcontracted partner.

  • Role-based training

Warehouse, purchasing, sales and finance trained separately.

What we actually do, week by week.

Every deployment follows the same six steps, so you know what is happening each week and what comes next.

  • Discovery and scoping

A structured review of how product, money and information move today, and where the system will need to bend to fit you.

  • Data migration

Items, customers, suppliers, pricing, open orders and history brought across, reconciled and signed off against your existing balances.

  • Integration build

QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Squarespace, carriers and any internal system with an API, connected and tested with real transactions.

  • Training on your data

Role-based sessions using your items and your workflows. Warehouse staff, buyers, sales and finance each get their own.

  • Go-live and hypercare

Cutover support, daily check-ins through the first cycle, and rapid tuning while real volume exposes the edge cases.

  • Continuous improvement

Quarterly reviews to retire the workarounds that survived go-live and put the next set of numbers on a dashboard.

Live in four to six weeks, not four to six quarters.

Most ERP projects fail on duration, not features. Ours are run by the people who build the product, with a fixed shape and a defined end.

How our services work
  1. Week 1

    Scope and data

We map your items, customers, suppliers, pricing and open transactions, and agree what comes across and what gets retired.

  2. Week 2

    Configure

Locations, costing, workflows, permissions, price lists and document templates configured to how you actually trade.

  3. Week 3

    Migrate and integrate

Historical data loaded, QuickBooks Online and your storefront connected, balances reconciled against your existing system.

  4. Week 4

    Train on real work

Your team runs live transactions in a parallel environment. Training on your data, not a demo company.

  5. Weeks 5–6

    Go live and settle

Cutover, hypercare, and the tuning that only surfaces once real volume flows through the system.

Compare with the 6–12 month average for mid-market ERP deployments.

What we ask of you

Our side of the deal, and yours.

Implementations fail on both sides. Here is the honest division of labour, agreed before kickoff rather than discovered in week five.

ChannelSnap owns

  • Configuration to the agreed scope
  • Data load, reconciliation and validation
  • Integration build and testing
  • Training delivery and materials
  • Cutover plan and hypercare

You own

  • One decision-maker who can settle process questions
  • Cleaning the item and customer data you want to keep
  • Naming the reports that matter before we build them
  • Freeing your team for training when it is scheduled
  • Saying out loud when something does not fit

Implementation questions.

What does implementation cost?

Implementation is quoted as a fixed scope after a scoping call, based on the number of locations, the state of your data, the integrations required and how many roles need training. Fixed scope matters more than the number; it is what stops a four-week project becoming a nine-month one.

Can we phase the modules?

Yes, and many customers do. A common sequence is operations first (inventory, purchasing and sales orders), then warehouse scanning, forecasting and reporting, then the Shopify or Squarespace integration. Because it is one database, adding a module later is configuration rather than another integration project.

Do you migrate our transaction history?

Open transactions and balances always come across. How much closed history follows is a scoping decision, but we usually recommend enough to make forecasting and trend reporting meaningful, which is typically two to three years.

What support do we get after go-live?

Named support from the team that implemented you, with response commitments set out in your agreement, plus regular reviews aimed at retiring workarounds and extending reporting.
